“a superb dram containing all you hope for in a sherry cask scotch. it needs a little time and a drop of spring water to open up to taste it at it's best, & one i'll definately buy it again”

Description

A 12 year old single malt from the Deanston Distillery, which was distilled in 2008 and filled into Oloroso sherry casks. After a dozen years, Deanston deemed the whisky ready for the world to enjoy, and bottled it up at 52.7% ABV. Expect dried fruit and rich honey notes galore here, folks!

Nose

Spiced hot chocolate and sun-dried raisins, with a pinch of aromatic sawdust sneaking in underneath the sweetness.

Palate

Thick honey and more chocolate, now with plum, liquorice, orange oil, and underpinning malty notes.

Finish

A lasting sweetness of sultana and toffee.
