Deanston 12yo Oloroso Bottling Note

A 12 year old single malt from the Deanston Distillery, which was distilled in 2008 and filled into Oloroso sherry casks. After a dozen years, Deanston deemed the whisky ready for the world to enjoy, and bottled it up at 52.7% ABV. Expect dried fruit and rich honey notes galore here, folks!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Spiced hot chocolate and sun-dried raisins, with a pinch of aromatic sawdust sneaking in underneath the sweetness.

Palate: Thick honey and more chocolate, now with plum, liquorice, orange oil, and underpinning malty notes.

Finish: A lasting sweetness of sultana and toffee.

Deanston Oloroso. A belter!

A belter of a whisky! Vert drinkable. Not smokey at all, smooth yet fruity. And at 52% has just a little bite.

Big sherry

Lovely sherry bomb. Powerful on the nose as soon as you open the bottle. Toffee and caramel. Big cask strength flavour. Can take a drop of water, but almost more fun without to maximise that bold sweetness.

Perfection in a bottle

I think this expression of Deanston is the best whisky I have had. Their distillate suits my taste preferences perfectly and the Oloroso cask maturation is perfect for it.
