Deanston 11 Year Old 2009 (cask 5211) - The Cooper's Choice (The Vintage Malt Whisky Co,)
This Deanston single malt was independently bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. for The Cooper's Choice series. After distillation in 2009, it spent an initial maturation period in American oak, before it was transferred to a Port cask for finishing – imparting a wonderfully rich ruby red hue! 252 bottles were drawn from this single cask in 2021.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Toasted nuts, coffee cake, plums, and gristy barley.
Palate
Salted peanut brittle, jammy raisins, and sultanas, juicy grapes, and dry, sharp oak.
Finish
Warming spice on the finish with pepper and cinnamon, black forest gateaux with a touch of fresh citrus zest.
