A whisky all the way from the sunny South West of England - Dartmoor, specifically! This English single malt was fully matured in Oloroso sherry casks, after being distilled in a still that originated in Cognac, under the watchful eye of master distiller Frank McHardy (previously of Springbank and Bushmills). Packed full of familiar sherried elements, this one. Dried fruit, chocolate, ginger, the lot of them.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose Red berry jam on toast, almond pastries and a touch of coconut ice.
Palate Chocolatey at first, before a kick of stem ginger and chewy dates arrive.
Finish Gingerbread, brown sugar and dry malt.
