Nose: Icing sugar and almonds open, with dark chocolate-dipped cherries, sweet red fruits and cinnamon doughnuts building sweetness. Bread and butter pudding, warm custard and creamy latte notes bring richness There’s a herbal menthol and a teeny hint of pipe tobacco to keep it earthy.
Palate: Really tart red fruit notes rush to the fore at first, before the more traditional raisins, figs and prunes come through. Cinnamon, ginger, orange oil, fruit cake mix and a rich walnut rise, before the coffee, earthy, darkly spiced undertones bring warmth.
Finish: Pleasingly consistent with the palate: soft and warming.
Overall: A heavenly example of Moscatel-Scotch harmony!
