Dalmore 14 Darkness 55.9% Bottling Note

A sherried single malt produced by the Dalmore Distillery, independently bottled up for the Darkness range. A Darkness Dalmore, if you will. Catchy nicknames aside, this expression was matured for 14 years, including a stint in an Oloroso sherry octave cask, which is much smaller than your run-of-the-mill hogshead, meaning a greater surface area to volume ratio, allowing for more interaction between the whisky and the wood.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Dense notes of dried fruit (prunes and apricots) balanced by ginger and drying oak. Very slightly earthy at points.

Palate: Those earthy notes develop into hints of tobacco and cedar, while the sherried sherry sweetness continues to grow.

Finish: Cinnamon, honeydew melon, spiced hot chocolate.
