    Dalmore 12 Year Old

Launched in late 2008 to replace the previous 12 year old, this single malt from the Dalmore distillery is a toasty, coffee-rich dram with beautifully spice notes and a thick mouthfeel. Very rich for a 12 year old.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

A warm coffee house in Seattle; roasting beans, the oily nuttiness in a fine espresso, there are little notes of malt and cereal and butter from the pastry counter with rich orange from the fruit bowl on the counter.

    Palate

Notes of Seville marmalade and triple sec with winter spices and fruitcake. Zesty cocoa and milk chocolate.

    Finish

    Medium, oranges.

    No mid-range...

Little hit...no mids...finish creeps in but overall...the looks deceived.

    Simple and Enjoyable

Not going to bore you with recollections of "front nose this, and body taste that, notes of blah blah, pretentious exposition to make me sound sophisticated...", f`ing yawn. It's a good scotch is you want something mild. Smooth and enjoyable. Definitely for those who prefer a scotch with little to no peat/smokiness. It's also light on the bandage taste as well, which is a bonus for me. Buy it. Try it. Don't like it? don't buy it again. Not everything is for everyone. Everything is for everyone to try at least once. Bought mine for $60 in the US.

    Unexpected

Big mouth feel. Very smooth but not sweet. I prefer peated malts but I'd much rather serve this to guests who don't. I can't see anyone disliking it.

    Smooth

Received as a present. Very smooth and lovely nose and flavour
