Dalmore Cigar Malt was discontinued in mid-2009, causing quite an uproar indeed. The whiskies used for the reworked version were actually slightly older, but naturally still pair perfectly with a cigar.
It's a great whisky, whether you drink with its intended purpose in mind or not. And if you do enjoy cigars, you'll want to know that the stick that provided the flavour benchmark for pairing is the hefty Partagas Serie D No. 4.
Caramel, shortbread, biscuits, coffee and chocolates. Simple, clean and moreish.
Yet more toffee, caramel edging towards the burnt cinder-toffee side of things. Flamed orange-zest, and perfectly integrated sherry.
Reasonably simple, Christingles (orange Zest and clove with a touch of cinnamon), more mid-palate than palate-coating.
Definitely meets the criteria of pairing with a ‘BIG’ cigar.

Touch of the Islay's about it...sweet, tangy and tart, but with a underlying gentle Highlands taste.Exceptionally smooth, so there is quality distillation happening here and careful ageing in good casks. Overtly coloured, but this is probably how the punters [read: smokers] like it - strong, dark, flavourful and smoky. At 44% ALC/VOL, with its inherent provenance securely intact, water or ice added only detracts from the magnificent pleasure of letting this Whisky sit for at least 15 minutes to open up and enjoy neat in its intended form.
Very fine
This is $159 at Total Wine 9/12/2018. I'm hearth broken, I paid too much.
Magnificent offering from Dalmore. Tried my first dram tonight and was very impressed. Cant wait to have an actual cigar with it.
Really poor. One of the worst whiskies I have in my collection. Would be expensive at half the price. Trying my best to like it but nothing there and very harsh. In my opinion a marketing ploy and cheap young whisky. Avoid!
