Decadent Dailuiane from Murray McDavid, finished in a bourbon quarter cask from Koval distillery in Chicago! Subtitled 'Creamy & Sweet', that pretty much sums up the flavour profile of this single malt, which was bottled for the Cask Craft range, which aims to make it easier to drinkers to explore the influence of different wood finishes on Scotch whisky.
Apple crumble and custard, fresh thyme, and underripe pear.
Banana ice cream, cinnamon butter, and vanilla, with zingy green apple bringing balance.
A drizzle of caramel over crisp stone fruit.
Since the flora and fauna version is predominantly sherry matured, I bought this purely to see how the dailuaine spirit holds up in bourbon casks, and the answer is superbly ?? Fantastic on its own, with a drop of water or as a whisky and soda. My friends and I hold dailuaine in very high regard and I’ve convinced them to buy a bottle each too. Cracking whisky through and through.
