Dailuaine 40 Year Old 1971 (cask 8186) - Directors' Cut (Douglas Laing)
A truly staggering 40 year old single cask Dailuaine, distilled in December of 1971 and aged in refill hogshead 8195 before bottling in February 2012 for Douglas Laing's Director's Cut range. A wonderful natural cask strength whisky, and a release of just 117 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Heather honey and orange zest, hints of marmalade, a little malt and nutmeg.
Palate
Warming and supple, notes of stewed fruits, caramelised sugar, dried peels and a touch of dark chocolate.
Finish
A long, malty, spiced finish with Manuka and cinnamon.
