This is the third independent bottling from the folks at Fable Whisky and they've picked another fabulous single cask here! Distilled at Speyside's Dailuaine Distillery in May 2008, this single malt was matured in a hogshead cask for 12 years, before bottling in May 2021, with a total outturn of 285 bottles. The charming label artwork by Hugo Cuellar depicts a scene from the Scottish folklore tale The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay, this would certainly be an ideal whisky for some storytelling 'round the fire.
Cinnamon buns, vanilla cream, buttery fudge and bold, toasty malt.
Crisp apple, roasted nuts, and oily, green oak. Honeyed toast with gentle baking spice.
Zesty and increasingly herbaceous, with a touch of menthol and peppercorn complementing lingering sweet vanilla and nutty bread.
I bought the full first Fable set (5 different bottles) for my partner for his birthday as he is a huge whisky fan and has a particular love for Scottish single malts so it was a no brainer to give Fable a go. We had a whisky tasting night in to try them all and both of us can confidently say these whiskies are all absolutely incredible. If we had to choose, I'd say personal favourite is the Mannochmore and my partner's would be the Caol Ila but honestly all five of them are simply beautiful. Without a doubt, I'd recommend all of the Fable whiskies and we already can't wait for the next release - amazing whiskies and gorgeous packaging.
Excellent whisky! The packaging and presentation and the whisky is excellent. Sweet and Fruity. Can't fault it!
