Distilled at Speyside's Dailuaine in 2009, this single malt spent its time maturing in a bourbon hogsheads, before finishing in first fill Sauternes dessert wine casks! After 12 years, the whisky was bottled up by Murray McDavid as part of its Benchmark collection.
Nose: Toasted walnut loaf, bold malt, and sweet sultanas.
Palate: Meaty malt, oat and raisin biscuits, and currant buns with cinnamon.
Finish: Vanilla and more vegetal malt, caramelised nuts, a touch of buttered popcorn with just a pinch of salt.
