Dailuaine 12yo '09 #15400 Bottling Note

Distilled at Dailuaine in January 2009, this single malt spent the next dozen years maturing, including time spent in a single sherry butt. Fast forward to November 2021 and the folks at indie bottler Douglas Laing decided it would be a good fit for its Old Particular The Midnight Series, so they cracked open the cask, releasing a total outturn of 270 bottles at a hearty cask strength of 57.3% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Toasted teacakes with plenty of currants and butter, a touch of ginger and nutmeg, sweet apple crumble.

Palate: More aromatic baking spice, with cinnamon and biscuity malt balancing honeyed fruits.

Finish: A touch of vegetal pepper pokes through, with sweet raisins, caramelised almonds, and powerful oak.
