Dailuaine 11yo 2010

Delightful single malt from Dailuaine, distilled in July 2010 and matured for 11 years in refill hogsheads. In May 2022, the time came to open the casks and bottle up that whisky, and do you know the folks who undertook that task? You do! It was us! Bottled by Master of Malt, without any colour or chill-filtration, a total release of 343 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Peach and apricot open things up, with dollops of whipped cream. Sweet malt and doughy brioche are joined by juicy pear and mellow oak, before things turn more tropical, with pineapple upside-down cake and white grape poking through.

Palate A big hit of pepper hits the front of the palate before a wash of white chocolate and macadamia cools things down. Ginger and fiery chilli prickle away, tangling with toffee sweetness.

Finish Sugary tea, more ginger warmth, and stone fruits, mellowing off sweetly with spicy barley and buttery fudge.

Reviews for Dailuaine 11 Year Old 2010 (Master of Malt)
Scrumptious stuff
Sadly, I don’t have the palate to discern all the nuances of a dram so I
won’t try to impress with flowery, flavoursome , heavenly scented opinions
of this bottling. Suffice to say that when introduced as a mystery malt at
our local whisky club it was generally described as being a long dated single malt of Highland origin, smooth as to be “normal” abv, non peaty with a price of £60-80
On exposing the bottle most were very impressed and it was praised highly.
I concur. Fantastic value for a very fine cask.

Lovely different but familiar Scotch dram
Really enjoyed my first dram of this whisky, light and refreshing, pears, toffee and then a proper Scotch kick, that indescribable body of flavour, which kicks in after the initial taste. Had to put the cork back in and resist another glass, it's too good for a Monday after work drink !
