It's the 2011 vintage of Daftmill's annual Summer Batch Release! Daftmill is a family-run farm distillery, and spirit production only takes place in the farm's quiet periods – midsummer and winter, so it's always exciting to see a new release. This single malt was distilled from a variety of barley called Publican grown in a single field on the farm, harvested on 28th and 29th August 2009, dried and stored, and then malted in summer 2010. A total of 27 first-fill barrels that previously held bourbon from Kentucky's Clermont Springs distillery were filled over June, July, and August 2011, and matured until bottling in 2023.
