Dà Mhìle Welsh whisky is made in tiny batches and doesn't come around very often. Fans had to wait four years from 2018 before there was another single grain release, but we've thankfully got some delightful examples now like this organic creation that was matured in a bourbon quarter cask. The small size of the barrel means the wood will have interacted a lot with the spirit before it was bottled at 46% ABV. There's only 400 bottles of this batch, so get it while you can.
Desiccated coconut, vanilla, toffee apples, and cinnamon.
Raspberry white chocolate, oaky vanilla, and custard are joined by clove and white pepper.
Tropical fruit and aromatic spice linger.

Stumbled upon the distillery (tiny place!) whilst travelling around Wales. Tried a few at the shop but this one really stuck with me - brought home a 5cl taster and will be buying a 70cl bottle for sure. Really nice taste, tastes a little smoky / peaty (from the Laphroaig cask?) whilst at the same time retaining the sweetness you'd associate with a Speyside or even highland scotch. Really enjoyed it, a nice balance of flavours and excellent sipped neat.
One of the best I have tasted, smoothwith pleasant undertones.like Penderyn but absolutely love this one.
