Craigellachie Winter Fruits (cask 6584) - The Cooper's Choice (The Vintage Malt Whisky Co.)
A particularly fruit-forward single malt from the Craigellachie Distillery, which has been independently bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. as part of The Cooper's Choice series. It was initially aged in American oak, before being moved over to a ruby Port cask for a finishing period, then bottled at 54% ABV. It was bestowed the name "Winter Fruits", as a hint towards its flavour profile. 336 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Rich plum and strawberry, followed by a touch of rock pool salnity.
Palate
Barley, more ripe plum, fruity coffee and juicy orange.
Finish
Clove, fizzy strawberry laces, just a touch of barrel char.
