Craigellachie 9 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Another delicious batch of single malt from Craigellachie, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. They've got their hands on a 9 year old single malt from the Speyside-based distillery, and bottled it up at 49.4% ABV. The worm tub on the label remains far too realistic for our tastes, but it does remind us that Craigellachie are one of the few remaining distilleries to use a worm tub to cool down vapour from the stills. Swings and roundabouts.
Batch 4 is a release of 271 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Potpourri, barley sugar, citrus peels and stem ginger.
Palate
Subtle wafts of smoke take shape on the palate, supported by earthy vanilla and dried apricot. A hint of chocolate mousse, too.
Finish
Black pepper, cut grass, honey and rye.
