Craigellachie 9 Year Old - Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
9 year old single malt from the Craigellachie distillery in Speyside, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Craigellachie is one of the few remaining distilleries to use a worm tub to cool vapour from the stills, hence why a worm tub is front-and-centre on this label. However, the name has been taken a little too literally and has become, frankly, nightmarish.
Batch 2 is a release of 397 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts, single grains, bourbons and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Biscuity malt, vanilla and lemon emerge through dried oak spices and a backdrop of smoke and minerality.
Palate
Sweet cereals, milky coffee and charred oak lead, before dried mango, earthy pear and a smattering of butterscotch provide depth.
Finish
A touch of vanilla tablet and dried barley remain.
Overall
Oodles of delicious flavours combine here beautifully.
