One of four official bottlings from the Craigellachie distillery released in 2014 (after a long time of seeing very few official bottlings of theirs). The 23 year old is the oldest of the bunch, bringing plenty of bold fruit, complex herbs, refined oak and a touch of sulphur.
Lemon, orange and pineapple up front, backed up by warm oak and golden barley. Oak notes become increasingly toasty as it goes on.
Salted caramel, creamy vanilla and more orange zest. Cinnamon, nutmeg and a subtle whiff of sulphur give it plenty of depth.
The sulphur lasts, but it's not overpowering - the sweet spices bring balance to the long finish.

Delicious. I thought i was only a peathead until i had this. It has then become my favorite scotch to date.
I had the privilege to sample this at the Aberfeldy Distillery. What an amazing whisky. I an already a fan of the 13 year old but this is simply awesome. Rich, heavy and super smooth. Wish I could afford to drink it more often!
