Craigellachie 18 Year Old 2002 (cask 5) - Cask Collection (A.D. Rattray)
Cask strength Craigellachie, independently bottled by A.D. Rattray for the Cask Collection series. This one was allowed to age for 18 years - from September 2002 to September 2020 - in a single bourbon hogshead, and was bottled up at 55.5% ABV, with an outturn of only 277 bottles. Craigellachie's single malt is always a treat, and it's certainly distinctive when compared to whisky from other Speyside-based distilleries.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Spicy cedar and oily malt, with some cooling vanilla blossom freshness.
Palate
Gingerbread, honeycomb and a spiciness akin to good rye whiskey!
Finish
Biscuity barley, polished oak, sultana and more ginger.
