An impressive 18 year old single malt from Craigellachie, drawn from a single cask that was home to the whisky from March 1999 to June 2017, when it was bottled for La Maison du Whisky. A complex dram, and very rewarding indeed.
Whiffs of fresh peach and nectarine, before launching into dried herbs, flint and fresh ginger.
Edible flowers, dried pineapple, a bit earthy in spots (helped along by the spicy oak elements). A hint of vanilla.
A long finish, with more floral touching coming through.
