Craigellachie 13 Year Old 2008 (cask 7529523) - The Octave (Duncan Taylor)
A cracking single malt from Craigellachie, distilled in 2008 and matured for 13 years in oak casks, with a three-month finishing period in small octave casks. In 2021, the whisky was bottled up at cask strength by the indie experts at Duncan Taylor and released as part of The Octave collection.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Lemony biscuits, buttered rye bread, chocolate flapjack, with some underlying pebbly minerality.
Palate
Sweet, malty vanilla, a touch of oaky coffee, underlying fruit and berries drizzled in salted caramel.
Finish
Chocolate and honeyed cereal, baking spice and soft stone fruit.
