Hailing from the Craigellachie distillery, this single malt spent a dozen years maturing, including a finish in an oloroso sherry octave cask. Octave casks are smaller, thus allowing more interaction between whisky and wood for the time that they are full. They're the cask of choice for Darkness, ensuring the intensely sherried character for which its range is renowned.
Fruity layers of blueberry and prune are backed by a herbaceous touch of mint chocolate, with fudgy sweetness gathering in the distance.
Robust malt and treacly toffee tangle with charred tropical fruit and burnt caramel, with a touch of cacao and spice developing in time.
Cooked apples, dusted with sweet spice, gingerbread, honeyed dates, and cocoa.
