Master of Malt
Scotland
Single Malt
11-year-old single malt distilled at Craigellachie, and independently bottled by your very favourite friends at Master of Malt! This one was aged in a bourbon hogshead from 2006 to 2018, and then bottled without chill-filtration or additional colouring at cask strength – a weighty 57.6% ABV.
Peppery malt balanced by green apple and tangerine. Slightly minty. Digestive biscuits and cut grass.
Still enjoyably grassy, though now with buttered scones and lemon peel.
Eucalyptus, peppercorn, quince and rye bread.

Before watering it down it is too aggressive. After watering a bit it opens a better bouquet with some green apple (the spiciness of a granny smith green apple is clear), cooked mash and new wood. On the palate, it stars spicy and becomes more and sweeter finalizing with a vanilla cake that long lasts. The palate is a lot more interesting than the nose because of the developing and that is what saves this one for me. I believe 90 Euros is a bit overpriced tho.
