Hailing from the Craigellachie distillery, this tremendous 10-year-old single malt spent time in both oloroso and PX sherry casks before it was bottled up by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. This batch coincides with the release of the End of the World series, and so, as if the giant worm wasn't scary enough, the four white horses that appear on the label of these Boutique-y Craigellachie releases are being ridden by four ants of the apocalypse for this edition.
Batch 15 is a release of 414 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends, all adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels. The brand won Spirits Bottler of the Year at the 2023 Spirits Business Awards, and Blender of the Year went to Sam Simmons, captain of the Boutique-y clan who oversees every one of these releases.
Dark stewed berries and raisins join dark cherries and prunes, with roasted nuts, cocoa, and vanilla fudge.
Heaps of dried fruits, with dates, cherries, figs, and chocolate raisins, backed by waves of nutty praline.
Woody spices join for the finish, with dense sherried oak and dark, nutty toffee.
