Rum Finish
For GreatDrams 50th single cask release the brand wanted something and it got it with this single malt Scotch whisky. A vintage 2012 Craigellachie whisky, it was initially aged for over eight years in a first-fill bourbon barrel before it was transferred to a rum cask, the first use of rum casks by GreatDrams, for an additional 16 months ageing. Those robust, tropical notes that makeup Craigellachie's spirit character really shine with this pairing. It was bottled at 48.2% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with its natural colour. There's just 115 bottles of it.
Charred pineapple, dry straw, fried banana, nectarine, and toasted cinnamon.
Orange oil, freshly baked biscuits, vanilla, nutty muesli, and heaps of tropical fruit.
Cacao and sweet tobacco.
