The latest Special Edition of Whisky Sponge from Decadent Drinks, this 1986 vintage Cragganmore single malt spent three decades in a refill hogshead before it was moved to a first-fill Port barrique for five years, then a second-fill barrel for two and a bit more years. It was bottled at 37 years old, cask strength (52% ABV), and presented in the brand's preferred hand-blown Cognac glass.

Tasting Note by The Producer

The result is a rich, complex whisky, with a profile more akin to that of a long maturation in refill sherrywood. Many mentholated notes, scented, resinous hardwoods, crystalised fruits, waxes and rich notes of long-aged dessert wines and herbal liqueurs.
