Cragganmore 12 Year Old Reviews

As a self confessed lover of Johnnie walker green label. I was interested in trying the individual malts that that go into it. Cragganmore on its own was very interesting.

I think it's definitely worth trying.
Very different from the vast majority of supermarket whisky. I look forward to trying again in all honesty.

Delicious and different

Bought a mix pack of Cragganmore, Talisker and Lagavulin and conducted a little tasting at Thanksgiving. The participants were familiar with Scotch and preferred heavily plated and smoky Island. To a person we all loved Cragganmore. It’s fruity and subtlety almondy. After years of drinking the other style it’s become a favorite of mine.

An excellent well balanced single malt

An excellent, well balanced single malt, my preferred tipple.
The only problem is that it doesn't last long !!!! 🤣🤣🤣

One of my favourite speysides. Very smooth

Distinctive almond and honey notes through a smooth slow burn

A friend, knowing I’m a fan of good Scotch, brought along a 200ml of Cragganmore 12 on a five day canoe-camping trip in the boundary waters of New Brunswick/Maine.

It stayed in the cooler ‘til the last night and he said “Have at it if you like, I might have some too.”

I tried a bit with water and wasn’t impressed at all, then snuck a nip right from the bottle after he said he didn’t want any.

I told him “I’m liable to drink it all, then!”

“That’s why I brought it!” he said.

I kept nipping at it now and then when walking by the table and loved the almondy, honey smoothness of it that crept through the smooth burn while I kept it in my mouth before letting it slide down.

I ended up polishing off the small bottle after a bit, walking the root-bound shore and watching the nearly full moon along the St Croix.

With its natural tastes emerging through a nice smooth burn, it seemed just the right Scotch for being outdoors for days on a wilderness adventure.

I’d gladly buy a larger bottle to see how I like it in other environments.

Recommended if you like to try new tastes and are open-minded.

A lovely dram but not for Islay fans!

Cragganmore is quite simply, a cracking dram.
Everyone has their own opinion, quite right too......but a prominent distillery manager (not Cragganmore) describes it as his absolute favourite. His opinion is for me, more valuable than the haters here. I loved it from my first taste, in the early 70s.

Great, easy going whiskey. Wish it were easier to find here in the southern USA

Inoffensive tasty dram

Subtle, but lasting flavours. Quite delicate, very very little/no smokey flavours as the description states. Good dram, easy to drink and has you wanting more. Each to their own, if you like a laphroaig or the like, you wont like this.

Certainly not a powerhorse! Superb as a nightcap with a tiny splash of “Adam's Ale”

A fine delicate rather feminine Scotch, closer to The Dalwhinnie than Islay whiskeys. But the flavours are quite delicious. Not a dram for the macho palate - I use Lagavulin when I'm in that mood - but a subtle and quite splendid whisky.
