Masthouse Single Cask 137

The first ever single cask release from Copper Rivet Distillery, and it's exclusive to us! This Masthouse single malt began life as Belgravia barley harvested in August 2016 from 40 Acre Marsh, a lush field on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, just 15 miles from the distillery. It was fermented for a long time (around seven days) before it was then pot and column distilled in 2018 and filled into a virgin American white oak cask (no. #137) that had a high toast and a medium char. It was then disgorged in July 2022 before being bottled at 56.2% ABV. Stellar stuff.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Full of candied fruit, with foam banana sweets, Rosey Apples, and pineapple chunks, as well as rich fudge, posh dark chocolate, and a very soft warming, and spicy aroma of gingerbread dough.

Palate Slick varnished wood appears before toffee, vanilla, a little coffee, and golden syrup temper things and brings us into creamy, sweet territory. The fruit is more tropical and juicy here, while baking spices mingle away in the backdrop.

Finish Very satisfying, the big cask notes start strong but fade to leave lots of estery fruity goodness.

Reviews for Masthouse Single Malt - Single Cask #137
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!! Slides down extremely easily, infact too easily! It is now my favourite whisky. The creaminess of it is sublime; the many flavours, one after the other, are almost too much! The gorgeous lingering aftertaste, for quite a while, is toffee/fudge/caramel. I'd imagine it would be amazingly delicious if used in a vanilla dessert. It is the best whisky I've tried and I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!

Delicious, but make sure you add a few drops of water!!
A few drops of water brings out the sweetness and rum like finish of this very smooth and warming whisky.

It’s delicious - go buy a bottle
Fantastic whisky. I was at the original tasting and this was a definite favourite. The tasting notes on here are spot on. I’ve just bought bottle and recommended it to everyone. The price also delivers real value.
