Copper Dog

A blended malt Scotch whisky named after a little piece of kit used once upon a time by distillery workers to covertly sneak spirit home... Eight different single malts from Speyside are combined by master blender Stuart Morrison to create this well-balanced whisky, which is designed to be well-suited for enjoying neat or in cocktails and mixed drinks. The other kind of dog, the animal kind, is very cool too, and Copper Dog is partnered with a number of charities across the U.S, supporting local shelters!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Peach, pear and dried apple. Classic Speysider honey'd cereal notes.

Palate Chocolate digestives, nutty malt, orange peels and soft simmering spices.

Finish Baked goods and honey-covered fruit.

Reviews for Copper Dog
Excellent
My husband has soooo many single Malt whiskies that i asked the local wine merchant for recommendations and he suggested Copper Dog. Despite the fact that it's a blended whisky, my husband loves it, as does his mates who are also single Malt snobs!!!!

Yuck
Nothing to see here with this “Scotch.” Bought on close out sale for $18 at my grocery store in CA. Cannot be sipped neat due to it’s disgusting taste. Distinctly bitter ending. Tried mixing with soda. It’s meh. Something like Dewars would be better for that. If you like this bottle, you’ve probably never tasted decent malt. That or you’re a very weird person.

A Very Good Blended Scotch Whisky
I like Copper Dog a lot particularly in cocktails. It is on the light side, but it does have a number of nice flavors, and is an easy drink. While the price in my area (around $32) is affordable, the real draw is that it tastes very good. I don't care what some snobbish reviewers say, this is good! And it makes a super Debonair cocktail with Canton ginger liquor.

Pleasant fruity blended malt scotch.
Fruity notes expected with Speyside malts . Pleasant on the palate, honey notes with a slight spicy finish. Love to know what 8 distillerys go into this ?

Its a Mixer!
This is a great dram if you mix it with soda but it doesn’t have enough complexity for me as a straight sipper.

Fantastic Speyside blended scotch, great competitor to Monkey Shoulder
Full disclosure- I am a big fan of blended scotch, and this is a great dram! This is a great competitor to Monkey Shoulder and is a great sipping blended scotch neat and in cocktails. I would highly recommend this to fans of Speyside scotch but also beginners getting into scotch after exploring mostly bourbon and Irish whiskies. Notes of sweet fruit, malt, spices and so smooth and easy to drink. Highly recommend it on the beach in the evening to toast the sunset or by the lake after a day of water sports! I don't know, just hits the spot for me! Slainte!

More Complete & Enjoyable than it Has any Right to be
Disclaimer - not a huge scotch fan.
Got this from a buddy who came back from the UK almost a year ago now, and just opened it last night. Had never heard of it, but the bottle blurb had me thinking it must be a tourist gimmick thing. Wow. When you talk about punching above your weight class, this is what you're talking about. This might just be my new favorite scotch blend - the richness & softness outdoes I think even some single malts like Glenmorangie (my previous no. 1 scotch). Very low baby wipes alcohol smell, very low "musty grains" smell - two telltales I usually get from cheap(er) scotch. One of the very few scotch whiskys I would actually reach for over an Irish or bourbon

Only Good For Decorating Your Toilet
Cheap bok this so called whisky. I blame this one for the hangover and toilet decorations after a heavy night. I had this early in the night and it was pretty hard to swallow. I like all types of quality whisky and this is not quality. When you have so many great whiskies at a similar price to try, choosing this Copper Ming Dog is like choosing to support Cowdenbeath when you come from Madrid. Anybody who has given it a good review has yet to appreciate good whisky. And to the person who said it might be nice with Coke, I say you might as well buy a cheaper bad whisky to wash down and disguise the poor taste with Coke. This Copper Ming Dog is for toilet decorations only.

Might be OK with coke
Bought a bottle today, sadly one of the worst scotch whisky I have tasted. Watery bitter taste, none of the warm burn on the throat. Might give to my son-in-law to mix with coke.
