Do you know what you're looking at here? The first whiskey to be distilled in Mayo in over 150 years! A small batch, 4-year-old single malt, the first to run off the stills at Connacht Distillery to be released, it was aged in ex-bourbon casks before being finished off in sherry casks.
Seedless raisins drizzled with a little floral honey are joined by butterscotch and some ripe pears.
Lots of toffee and creamy vanilla soothe the excitable spices that jump to the fore before a complement of dried fruits and rich malt adds depth.
An oily nutty quality lingers.

Don’t be put off by the young age - this is a genuinely nice malt. All bodes well for future releases.
