This blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box encourages us to explore the sometimes surprising sweetness that can be found in peated malts. Once you take the time to slowly get through the smoke and grow accustomed to its character, a sweeter side is unveiled. Casks are important in releasing that unexpected sweetness, and this blend includes single malt from Caol Ila matured in wine casks, The Peat Monster drawn from refill red wine casks, and Laphroaig single malt finished in marsala barriques, among others. The Compass Box gang recommend trying this with a small spritz of soda to unlock further fruity and sweet flavours.
