Glasgow Blend 50cl Bottling Note

The Glasgow Blend is the second permanent expression in the Great King Street range from Compass Box. According to Aeneas MacDonald in his 1930 book, 'Whisky', Glaswegians have historically preferred their whisky to be packed to the rafters with flavour and have a full body. Well, it just so happens that the Glasgow Blend is all that and a bag of chips (chips not included). A full, rich dram with Sherried spices and plump raisins, complimented by a core of peat smoke.

Compass Box Great King Street - Glasgow Blend 50cl Reviews

Excellent addition to the GSK

Glasgow Blend is truly terrific. Think Artist Blend but with some great peaty smoke and nice sherry notes. Very full bodied but balanced. Excellent blend.

Flavor is not what it claims to be

Aside from tasting much too young and spirity, the sherry is barely noticeable (look at the color). I'd rather that they had added in extra sherry cask whisky in lieu of the French oak, which is rather predominant. Not as good as JW Black, which has the peat & sherry that this promised but failed to deliver.
