    Colonel EH Taylor Small Batch

This small batch bourbon is named after Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, an incredibly important figure in bourbon's history from the 1800s who owned a whole host of distilleries and innovated production methods which are still used today. It's only right that the Colonel EH Taylor Small Batch lives up to his name by being absolutely amazing.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Caramel apples, fresh corn and cloves. Butterscotch sneaks in after a while.

    Palate

More corn sweetness, mixed with slight spiciness of rye and cinnamon.

    Finish

Medium and very rich with creamy vanilla.

    Overall

A really great small batch bourbon.

    Really Nice

Really nice as expected, complex, has the burn and rye spice to it Nose: baking apples, baking spices, corn, caramel, pear, bourbon vibes Palate: apple pie, orchid fruits, rye spice, vanilla, nice burn good balance Yes really nice but will knock a star off for price I’m not totally convinced, it does taste premium definitely, but £100 premium not so sure

    Genuinely disappointing

This was one of the most disappointing whiskies I've had. It's certainly not bad, it's nice and smooth and has a decent flavour profile, but for a £100 whiskey... not a chance. Noah's Mill, which is sold out here but available elsewhere, and Rowan's Creek in my view are far better for less. Reading through reviews, there's clearly been an enormous surge in the price, as with most whiskey, but in my view this has definitely left value far behind.

    Pretty good.

Tuath glass showing deep copper to a burnished tinge. The nose shows savory notes of roasted corn and hints of umami. The palate is vanilla forward throughout. Surprisingly a lot of vanilla on the palate

    Excellent bourbon!

Was never a Bourbon drinking until I came up this lovely elixir while making a pit stop to the Buffalo Trace Distillery enroute to Florida last November. The distillery staff couldn't keep the good Colonel on the shelf. Bought a bottle there and then when back in Canada have bought 2 bottles since. Now sadly our British Columbia owned Government stores are all sold out. The Colonel was an amazing innovator and now he's an Amazing bourbon!
