    Single Malt

Clynelish 16 Year Old 1997 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)

This fantastic Clynelish was matured for 16 years in a single hogshead (4033) before bottling as part of Master of Malt's Single Cask range in April 2013 with an outturn of just 276. Orange, citrus and stone fruits combine with classic coastal tang. If you don't like this, I will fight you.

"Hard to go wrong with Clynelish. And here you won't... at all. Another malt of thundering, yet somehow coy beauty."

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Jaffa cakes and lime zest becomes lemon curd and peach.

    Palate

Salted and viscous with grapefruit and fresh, ripe peaches.

    Finish

    Tingly stone fruit goodness.

    Overall

Ticks all the right boxes, this is a tremendous Clynelish.

    One of the Best

As a Clynelish collector and aficionado, I was fortunate to get a full bottle of this and this was one of the best Clynelishes I ever had.

    No Fights Here...

Received this as a sample, and apparently that's all that's still offered from the fine chaps at Master of Malt as the bottles have sold out. From a neat pour, I immediately found key lime pie, chocolate digestive, and peach. After it opened up I also got damp earth, orange zest and dark chocolate. As above, the palate is spot on - simply salt and peaches. The finish is quick, briefly tart, and a smidge hot, but nevertheless very smooth for 56.7% without water. After a while, the tartness turned to a more sweet orange and cream. Beautiful experience, overall! Glad I was able to taste it!
