The 1993 vintage from Diageo's range of Distillers Editions. This Clynelish was finished in Oloroso seco casks, and it proffers a wonderfully fruity, waxy flavour. Well worth a try.
Grassy with notes of cut hay, beeswax and soft fruit on the nose, alongside coastal air, gentle woodsmoke and buttered, burnt toast.
Lots of fruit, mixed with rich beeswax, a little manuka honey, salted butter, marmalade and black pepper. A touch of smoke too.
Good length with pepper, spices and redcurrant jelly.

Not to my taste...
Brora, is not on Speyside !
Esperaba un poco mas de sensaciones, sobre todo por las notas de cata dadas para este Whisky. Predominan demasiado las notas salobres; haciendo pensar que se está ante mariscos y no degustando un Whisky.
Usually, when you deal with speysider that is 16 years matured, you somehow have a higher expectations. I am not gonna say it doesnt deliver but it is not to my liking. Honey and medicinal notes are clearly present, a little alcohol is tasted. Would expect a little more from that one. Maybe it is just the house style I dont find likeable and attractive. No need to worry however as there are so many stunning speysiders and Glendronach 15 justifies me every time I just look at the bottle!
