Christmas Cake &... 12yo

Those crafty folks behind the &Whisky range couldn't resist adding another cracker to the collection, and the chance to squeeze a bonus pair of ampersands in the name while they were at it! Here we see a beloved Speyside single malt, boasting a characterful combo of flavours such Christmas Cake & Dark Chocolate & Medjool Dates & Cinnamon, treated to a dozen years of maturation, including a finish in sherry casks (that's the first extra "&"), aaand (&) it's bottled at cask strength – a robust 57.8% ABV, which covers the final extra "&". So that is a total of five ampersands, 12 years, heaps of sherried sweetness, and deliciously festive spice.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Yep, it smells like a homemade Christmas cake that's been fed sherry for the past six months. Sweet layers of treacle and sticky toffee pudding are supported by wintery spice and meaty malt.

Palate Big and bold with dense, tannic, leathery oak and tobacco, drying spice, and sticky dried fruits. Fiery cinnamon is tamed by layers of maple syrup and chocolate fondant.

Finish A warming finish with notes of spiced biscuits and caramelised sugar, bolstered by that hearty cask strength.

Reviews for Christmas Cake & Dark Chocolate & Medjool Dates & Cinnamon & Sherry Casks & Cask Strength 12 Year Old (Batch 01)
Great Christmas single malt
Christmas Eve and the seal is broken. Lovely warming dram full of fruit cake & Christmas flavours. The hit of the cask strength is potent and welcoming on a late Christmas Eve afternoon with the fire lit, the dogs walked & settling down to watch Alistair Sim’s Christmas Carol. The bottle arrived 2 weeks ago and is well worth waiting until today to finally try it.
