It's another Chorlton Whisky bottling of Bealach Ruadh, the annual secret(ish) Islay single malt release! The Island whisky has been aged in a bourbon hogshead for seven years, and though this is a relatively young spirit, it still manages to boast a complex maritime flavour profile. Only 152 secretive bottles were released at 58.2% ABV.
A dash of sea salt and lemon zest, with sea washed pebbles and just a hint of vanilla sponge cake.
More maritime loveliness alongside peat smoke and toffee apple sweetness. Seaweed is intertwined with fresh herbs and pine needles.
Bonfire smoke and toffee balance each other on a long, smoky-sweet finish.
