The very first blended malt Scotch whisky from Chivas Regal - Ultis! In honour of the five generations of Master Blenders who have been behind Chivas Regal over the years, this expression features single malts from five different Speyside distilleries, namely Allt-á-Bhainne, Braeval, Longmorn, Strathisla and Tormore.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Richly honey'd, with a kick of fiery cinnamon underneath. Tinned peaches and crumbly fudge.

Palate Rounded fruit notes all the way throughout (poached pears, clementines and a touch of persimmon). Slight drying notes of fresh barley.

Finish Sugared peels, dark chocolate and a pinch of ginger.

Head and shoulders above Chivas Regal 18
Creamy, buttery toffee on the nose and palate. Wouldn't change a thing about this one. Expensive and worth every penny. One pour quickly turns into several.

Delightful on the palate; would do even better with some more muscle
Creamy, balanced, flavorful and delightful; it would have merited half a star more if the punch factor was somewhere between 46% and 51%. All the same, an elegant dram with polish and class.

It blew my mind!
Don't dilute it, don't water it down, don't put ice in it! Chivas has created Ultis, a masterpiece for a lousy £150!

Excellent, just excellent
I am a big fan of the Chivas 18 and Royal Salute so when I saw the Ultis available in a hotel bar I was keen to try it. This review is based on that one tot which I drank half neat and half with a drop of water.

The Ultis is extremely refined, smooth, complex. There is practically no heat to it and a drop of water did nothing to enhance it - it was mere dilution and an error. The flavor is very rich with caramel and a whole medley of fruit evocative to me of Christmas and dried fruits. One of my favorite whiskys ever. I will certainly buy a bottle when I see it in the US - and believe it to be underpriced - it is going to sell like crazy when discovered
