Chichibu London Edition 2025 70cl Whisky

Japan's Chichibu distillery was founded by Ichiro Akuto, former manager and grandson of the founder of Hanyu distillery. This is the 2025 drop of the London Edition of Ichiro's Malt, launched at the city's annual Whisky Show, and the eighth instalment in the limited edition series. This edition combines a blend of 10 casks, including two that contained heavily peated malt. Bottled at a generous 50.5% ABV, it's a robust, oak-driven whisky, balancing subtle smoke, candied citrus, dark chocolate, dried fruits, and warming spice. Plus, the label has a textured, glow-in-the-dark finish, which is rad.
