This Barrel Select Rye Whisky from Virginia-based distillers Catoctin Creek boasts a 100% rye mash bill and is one of 248 bottles produced. It rested in a barrel in Catoctin's rickhouse, near the Blue Ridge Mountains, before being bottled up at hearty 57.5% ABV. A real treat to sip neat for all you rye fans out there, but if you're looking to make some standout Manhattans this will also shine. Rye, and spice and everything nice!
Fresh baked cookies, with a hint of waxy lemon zest and mint, plenty of spice, and warm oak.

I have developed a love of rye, this one is the best I’ve tried by a long way. Rich, warming and spicy but still smooth and fragrant. I’ve tried the usual suspects, including pikesville, rittenhaus, wild turkey etc this stands head and shoulders above all of them. The only reason I made it 4.5 is I am hoping somewhere, somehow, it might get even better. It’s that good that I only have the Ragnorok left to try from Catoctin.
