The Cardrona Growing Wings Solera - Sherry & Bourbon Cask
All the way from New Zealand comes a superb single malt whisky, distilled by Cardrona! This expression brings together whisky aged in bourbon as well as sherry casks, making for a balanced flavour profile of creamy vanilla, toasty spices, and plump fruit. It has been released as part of the Growing Wings series, bottled up at a hefty 64.9% ABV, and presented in stylish 35cl bottles complete with a snazzy wooden stand. Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Malt loaf with salted butter, nutty barley leading into walnuts and vanilla fudge.
Palate
Candied peels and jammy sultanas, more walnuts, scones with cream and jam, a kick of cassia and ginger.
Finish
A warm finish of cooked orchard fruits and baking spice.
