Cardhu 15 Year Old

Aged for 15 years, this is a delightful expression from Speysider Cardhu. Allow this one to come to you, and you'll discover layers of fruity, toffeed magic.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Oats and apples, malty caramel, plenty of fresh fruit going on. Hints of marzipan and almond pastry, sugared buttermilk pancakes.

Palate Butterscotch, lychees and lots of banana! Rich tea biscuits dipped in a warm milky tea.

Finish Super light and creamy, foam bananas, with suggestions of yoghurt and granola. There is an almost rum like quality to this one.

Reviews for Cardhu 15 Year Old
So delicious!
Light and fruity, and so smoothe that before you know it half the bottle is gone. I wonder how it would behave if it was cask strength.

Great. Simply
Top 3 15Yr Olds for me, personally I find this better than the underwhelming Cardhu 18.
Definitely smoother than the Glenlivet 15.
An excellent whisky.

Pleasant
Pleasant and fruity with a long finish but not sure I detect the sweet toffiness in the above description.

Nose - sweet, floral, honeyed
Palette - Warm, honey, lightly toasted bread (just a hint)
Finish - Long lasting - More floral notes, hints of malt, more honey warm alcohol taste. goes right down to the stomach.
I enjoyed it best with just a dash of water.

Much Pleasure, After Taste is Great
After trying Cardhu 12 and Gold Reserve, tried the 15. Totally different from the Gold Reserve, and a slight slight improvement from the 12. Got sweet chocolate notes, great after wood notes, with some but not much spice. I didn't feel the alcohol, So it is smooth, easy to drink, but for a slight improvement over the price of the 12, I reccommend to try it at a local bar first (After Quarentine of course).

Easy drinking and a pleasurable wee dram
Easy drinking speyside. Add a tiny drop of water a mouses tear if you like and let it sit for ten minutes. Notice the difeerence in aroma ten minutes later. Warm toffee and fruity. Not complex on the tongue but a great drop never the less. A new rival to the Dalmore 15 for me in my easy drinking category. Buy it you wont regret it.

A really well rounded speyside
Loved the nose. Rich Crewe brûlée with some lovely spices and caramelised apples. A little less complexity in the mouth but still plenty there to keep you interested. All round, a very nice smooth speyside.
