Single malt Scotch whisky from the sadly closed Caperdonich distillery, which we've bottled for our Single Cask Series. The distillery began life with the catchy name Glen Grant #2, but soon closed a few years later, then reopened in the '60s only to close once again in 2002. This whisky was distilled back in June 1995 and matured in a bourbon cask for 22 years, before we bottled in in May 2018 at cask strength.
Mmmm what a rich smell: tobacco, walnuts and fruitcake.
Dark spices and muscovado sugar, oily, meaty texture with an earthy wild edge to it.
Peppery finish, long with a little sweetness coming through on the end.
A whisky with dark secrets.

It is little short of catastrophic that this superb cask strength is sold out. I have to say, it is about the finest cask strength I have ever tasted, and if I could I would buy a dozen bottles. It packs a punch as you would expect, but it also has a sweet and finely-balance flavour that is a pure delight.
