Smoky Scot is (surprise, surprise!) a heavily peated single malt, produced at the Caol Ila distillery. It was matured in bourbon oak casks for five years before being bottled at 46% ABV by Aceo. Boasting a typical Islay flavour profile, this peaty treat doesn't disappoint.
For the price, you cannot go wrong. For me, it starts off sweet and then the peat comes through, which lingers on your tongue. Another bottle awaiting to be ordered. Kev Doncaster
You can't complain about this at the price. Not ready? PAH! Smoke and sweetness - it's a nice dram not overpowered by too long a lay in the bourbon casks. Impatience is also a virtue.
What a wonderful surprise this whisky was, as it had the peaty/smoky elements that have been missing in other notable whiskies!
I never expected this peated malt whisky to be this fabulous! WOW! I’ll definitely be ordering more very soon!
