A Darkness! bottling of 7 year old single malt from Islay's Caol Ila distillery, showing off just how well smoke and sherry can go together. This expression was given a finishing period in tiny, specially-coopered Pedro Ximénez sherry casks before being bottled at cask strength. A very small release of only 93 bottles.
Mince pie filling, dark chocolate, sticking plasters and oatcakes.
Strawberries and black pepper, earthy smoke with a hint of flint in the background, a good whack of nutmeg.
Sherried peels, cooked plum, cinnamon.
