A refill hogshead Caol Ila Distillery from 2007, bottled at 50.1% ABV. No heavy cask influence here, just clean, chiselled distillate doing its thing. This is Caol Ila stripped-back: all seawater, citrus and precise peat. Just 218 bottles drawn.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Coastal freshness, sea spray, citrus juice and clean peat smoke.
Palate
Olive oil, brine, green olives, soft waxes and dry, ashy peat.
Finish
Long and gently smoky, with mineral salts, lemon peel and a savoury olive note.
