Description

This single malt from Caol Ila joins the Coasts & Shores collection from independent bottler Berry Bros. & Rudd. Distilled in 2010, the whisky matured for 14 years, including a finish in a single first-fill Moscatel hogshead, yielding an outturn of 240 bottles.

Nose

Coastal brine and honeyed stone fruits are joined by notes of plump sultanas, and a whiff of delicate peat smoke.

Palate

Dense, and oily, with layers of sweet dried fruits, smoked almonds, and a touch of candied lemon. Earthy oak and smoke nestle in the depths, joined by rich dark chocolate.

Finish

The peat smoke fades while dark brown sugar, salted caramel, and prunes linger with a touch of pepper.
