When it comes to independent Scotch whisky bottlings, you see a fair few Caol Ila expressions around, and they go always down a storm. Always. When it comes to our own independent releases, we pride ourselves on nosing out the best of the best from all the casks on offer, and bringing them to you as part of our exclusive Master of Malt collection – like this one, distilled in 2008 and finished in two oloroso sherry octaves before it was bottled in 2023, without added colour or chill filtration. A release of 203 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Big waves of brine and coastal minerality join earthy peat, supported by sweet, tangy marmalade and cakey spice.
Palate
A generous array of poached plums and apricots tangle with tarry coal smoke, while salted caramel and oaken vanilla join zesty waxed lemons.
Finish
Those citrus notes linger, with thick-cut marmalade and flamed orange peels lingering alongside smoked toffee, a sprinkle of nutmeg, and warming cinnamon.
